The Wings of Songs, a musical film set in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, recently premiered in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The movie concerns three young people from different ethnic groups who travel to a range of areas, from deserts to grasslands, seeking inspiration in the pursuit of their dreams to become musicians.
A Tianshan Mountain Studios production, the film began shooting in Tacheng prefecture on May 28, and traveled to other four prefectures in the vast Xinjiang region for further scenes.
The largest film produced by the studio in recent years, it fully displays the diversity of ethnic groups' culture and landscapes in Xinjiang, according to the producers.
The film features eight songs, four performances combining singing and dancing, as well as two musicals, which demonstrate the folk music of eight ethnic groups in Xinjiang.
The movie will open a large-scale regional screening in Xinjiang, and plans to open theatrically in the rest of the country in the following months.
