More than 8,000 buyers from 1,976 Wuxi enterprises have registered to attend the upcoming 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10. This represents a year-on-year increase of 96.8 percent and 48.9 percent, respectively.
"I was greatly inspired by what I saw and learned during the first expo last year," said Dai Minjun, vice chairman of Wuxi garment giant Hodo Group. She was glad to see the expo expand in scale and provide more relevant information related to e-commerce and artificial intelligence.
Many purchasing companies in Wuxi have been eyeing high-end overseas manufacturing equipment. A representative from a high-precision-parts manufacturer from Xishan district said the company plans to buy a professional machine tool to manufacture better products for their customers.
Fresenius Kabi SSPC, Asia's largest manufacturer of intestinal nutrient solutions who has a smart factory in Wuxi, has confirmed that it will purchase high-end imported raw food materials from a US company at the expo.
Yu Huanchun, chairman of Jinqiao International Food Town, attended this year's expo with 47 enterprises. The company agreed to import TH True Milk from Vietnam last year, and this year the company is eager to find business partners to import more snacks, sugar flavoring, and fruit from Russia, South Korea, Malaysia, and Mexico.
