More than 40,000 buyers from 13,800 purchasing companies in Zhejiang province have registered to attend the upcoming 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, up 15 percent and 66 percent year-on-year, respectively.
Many of them participated in the first expo last year.
"The goods we purchased last year were well-received, so we look forward to buying more this year," said a manager of an international trade company in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. The company ordered 150 million yuan ($21.35 million) worth of small home appliances from German companies last year and plans to order another 180 million yuan this year.
In addition to buyers, many service providers from Zhejiang will also attend the fair, such as Wuchan Zhongda Yunshang Co based in Hangzhou, which seeks to provide customized supply chain platforms for international brands.
According to the department of commerce of Zhejiang, the province will also participate in 26 supporting activities at the expo, including the third Zhejiang-Germany (Europe) Digital Economy and High-Tech Technology Industry Matchmaking Summit.
