30 works awarded in Yantai's first industrial design competition

A total of 30 works were awarded in the first Yantai Mayor Cup Industrial Design Competition on Oct 18, during the 2019 World Industrial Design Expo.
According to the organizers, 363 works entered the competition, with five winning the gold award, including the ultra-deepwater semi-submersible drilling platform (Blue Whale 2).

A further 10 works won the silver award and 15 won bronze, which included a body temperature sensing smart product. Yantai Municipal Education Bureau and other 11 government departments won the excellent organization award.

The Yantai Mayor Cup Industrial Design Competition will be held annually as part of governmental measures recently released to attract more industrial design talents and projects to Yantai.
Yantai has developed industrial design for many years, benefiting industrial transformation and upgrading. The three-day World Industrial Design Expo is expected to promote the integration and development of manufacturing and design industries, making Yantai a key hub for developing industrial design.
