The first Sustainable Development Forum was held in Beijing on October 24.
Li Bin, Vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) delivered a speech at the forum.
China attaches great importance to the implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It has taken the lead in issuing a national plan for its implementation in China, and published two progress reports to integrate the implementation work with medium and long-term development strategies such as the 13th Five-Year Plan(2016-20), said Li. Meanwhile, China promotes economic, political, cultural, social and ecological progress in a coordinated way and has made important progress on multiple sustainable development goals.
Li also pointed out that the forum provided a platform for the international community to exchange experiences and reach consensus to face the future, and China will continue to uphold the new development concept with a responsible spirit, an open mind and pragmatic measures, working together with all parties to advance the 2030 Agenda and promoting the building of a community of shared future for mankind.
