China is looking to establish top undergraduate courses at colleges and universities, according to a guideline issued by the Ministry of Education.
Around 10,000 state-level and 10,000 provincial-level top undergraduate courses will be established in three years or so, covering all disciplines set in all colleges and universities nationwide, according to the guideline.
The MOE will organize experts to examine the recommended courses before classifying them as top examples.
Once confirmed as state-level top courses, they will be tracked in their application, teaching results and other features, and will be further developed for five years, with their progress uploaded to specified websites and updated regularly.
The title will be withdrawn once an identified course is not further updated and improved, or has problems concerning its content or teaching staff, the guideline read.
