Traditional Nuo masks, embroidery, and paper-cuts of the Gelao ethnic group from Daozhen Gelao and Miao autonomous county in Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province appeared at the 25th International Cultural Heritage Fair held at the Louvre Museum, France from Oct 24 to 27.
The fair is one of the most important events concerning world intangible cultural heritages, and has aroused the public's attention to intangible cultural heritage protection.
Daozhen county is renowned for its Gelao ethnic culture, which is characterized by Nuo Opera, a national intangible heritage popular in many areas in China. Different from many other operas, Nuo Opera in Daozhen possesses unique masks with moveable eyes and mouths.
Daozhen's abundant natural resources make it one of the counties with the most potential for development in Guizhou. Daozhen wishes to take the fair as an opportunity to allow more people learn more about it and welcomes investment from all over the world.
