BEIJING -- A system based on blockchain technology has enabled the automatic case filing in the enforcement of a mediation agreement, the first of its kind in China, the People's Court Daily reported on Oct 30.
With a click, the enforcement case was automatically filed to the Beijing Internet Court when the respondent failed to pay the damages in the mediation agreement, a smart contract.
Thanks to the new system, there is no need to manually fill out the various forms.
With less human intervention, the system could make judicial enforcement more intelligent and transparent, as well as improve the efficiency and precision of judicial practices, according to the report.
"Applying smart contract technology is expected to promote deeper integration of data shared on the blockchain and the judicial information system," said Zhang Wen, president of the internet court, as quoted by the newspaper.
