BEIJING - A Chinese musical film telling the story of young people of various ethnic groups pursuing their musical dreams premiered in Beijing on Monday.
The film, produced by the Tianshan Film Studio in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, showcases the region's scenery and culture.
Consisting of songs and dances of eight ethnic groups, the film shows the unity of all ethnicities in China and their passion to make progress in the new era, said Gao Huanggang, director of the film.
The film combines various elements of song and dance and tries to explore new directions for Chinese musical films, Gao said.
After test screenings in Xinjiang, the film will hit theaters across the country.
