Hainan in South China launched a number of promotion seminars in the European countries of Germany, Switzerland, and Portugal. These efforts have resulted in remarkable accomplishments for the tropic island province, encompassing business cooperation agreements, enhanced communication, and tourism industry exchanges.
On Oct 14, the province promoted the Hainan International Tourism Island in Lisbon, Portugal through videos introducing the cultures of the Li and Miao ethnic groups, the province's water sports offerings, and its forest therapy industry.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Portugal. Taking this opportunity, the Hainan International Tourism Island (Lisbon) Promotion Conference comprehensively introduced the island province's tourism resources, preferential policies, as well as the development prospects of its international education and medical industries.
As a highly developed country, Switzerland has consistently led the world in GDP per capita and is an important potential source country for the province in the Central European tourist market. At the Hainan Tourism Promotion Conference held in Zurich, Switzerland, the delegation of the provincial tourism department stated that Hainan, which boasts rich tourism products and convenient entry policies, plans to use the Sanya-London flight route, as well as the upcoming flight routes to Berlin, Frankfurt, and Dusseldorf to attract more Swiss tourists.
Early on Sept 26, Berlin staged a similar Hainan promotion event featuring an exhibition on Hans Stubel, who made great contributions to China-Germany cultural communications and research in Chinese ethnology.
