"The summit is an important bridge that can inspire young people to grow and develop themselves, and care more about their countries and the world," said Yang Xiuping, former Chinese ambassador to ASEAN and former secretary-general of the ASEAN-China Center.
"As the international order is undermined by unilateralism and protectionism, China and ASEAN are obliged to undertake the responsibility of maintaining stability in the world," Yang added.
During the summit, a China-ASEAN Youth Declaration will be issued after discussions by delegates from the 11 countries, providing suggestions on promoting bilateral cooperation and furthering China-ASEAN relations.
