Roughly 3,000 runners from 60 countries and regions went for a run at an ancient city wall in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, on Oct 20.
They joined the Nanjing Qinhuai City Wall Marathon to support Nanjing's bid for the Qinhuai city wall to join the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.
The event was jointly sponsored by the Chinese Athletics Association, and various Nanjing government bureaus.
Runners could savor the charm of the city wall, while tasting local snacks of Nanjing, such as the Eight Delicacies of Qinhuai, either along the course or at the finish point.
Letanto Stephen Kimbomet from the Republic of Kenya won the men's race in 54 minutes and 22 seconds and Yin Xiaoyu from China won the women's race in one hour, six minutes and 12 seconds.
