Northeast China’s Liaoning province hosted an agricultural products promotional event in Shenyang, its capital city, on Sept 19.
The event aimed to showcase and promote the province’s agricultural products.
Organizers said it also aimed to provide a platform for cooperation between Liaoning and Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province—as well as cities in East China and South China that are involved in the agricultural sector.
Addressing the event, officials said that Liaoning province had focused on its agricultural sector and gathered resources to develop the sector into a regional powerhouse.
Officials said that emphasis has been placed on six industries—grain and oil, vegetables, fruits, livestock, aquatic products and general agricultural products.
Officials said the province would now move to strengthen brand building of its agricultural products.
It will also accelerate development using e-commerce in connection with its agricultural products and encourage establishment of farmers' cooperatives in rural areas, according to officials.
