Expo for innovation achievements takes place in Shenyang

An expo for innovation and the entrepreneurial achievements of young people in the country’s three northeastern provinces –– Liaoning, Heilongjiang, and Jilin –– is taking place at Shenyang Innovation World in the city’s Hunnan district.

According to the organizers, more than 1,000 people are attending the Oct 15-17 event.

Participants include representatives from young entrepreneurs associations in three provinces, project managers, representatives from financial institutes and young entrepreneurs themselves.

Exhibits at the expo cover such areas as modern agriculture, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, new energy, bio-medicines and creative culture, which all provide an impetus for regional economic growth, officials said.

The expo aims to provide an exchange platform for young entrepreneurs in the three provinces -- to share resources and achieve coordinated development, the organizers said.

Some representatives are promoting their startup projects at the event and hope to attract investment from the financial institutions present.

This year’s expo, the first held of its kind, is being hosted by the provincial Party committees of the Communist Youth League of three provinces, the Department of Science and Technology of Liaoning Province, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Shenyang municipal people’s government.

Going forward, the expo will be held annually, with the three provinces taking turns to host it, according to officials.
