As a frontier city of Guangdong province's efforts to connect with ASEAN, Zhanjiang has taken actions to promote the construction of transportation infrastructure, expand the maritime logistics channel, and accelerate the construction of a modern transportation system to improve accessibility within and outside the city.
At present, Zhanjiang is accelerating the construction of a high-level and high-quality modern industrial system. It is developing port-based industries, coastal tourism, characteristic agriculture, and military-civilian integration industries. It is also promoting the construction of transportation infrastructure, the expansion of industrial parks, and rural revitalization. It has been implementing five major industrial development plans focusing on the production efficiency of major projects, the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, speeding up the development of its modern service industry, cultivating its high-tech industry, and the comprehensive development of ocean related industries.
The city has been focusing on upgrading and optimizing an opening-up port, taking advantage of the policy opportunities of the Hainan Free Trade Zone to build a key extension area of Hainan's modern service industry.
Zhanjiang also actively promotes the development of six major marine industries: marine electronic information, offshore wind power, offshore equipment, marine life, natural gas hydrates, and marine public services.
In addition, the city has incorporated marine ecological protection policies into the overall layout of its marine development, adhering to scientific principles to rationally develop and utilize marine resources.
