Sichuan province and Upper Austria State of Austria signed a memorandum of friendship and cooperation in Chengdu on Oct 14.
Wang Yihong, vice governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province and Christine Haberlander, deputy governor of Upper Austria, signed the memorandum on behalf of the two sides respectively.
According to the agreement, the two sides will further promote exchanges and friendship through diversified activities. The two sides will promote exchanges and cooperation in the fields of scientific research, commerce, culture and tourism on the existing basis of exchanges and cooperation.
In addition, the cooperation between the two sides are not limited to provincial and state level, but also include the municipal level, covering the cooperation between cities, associations, enterprises and other relevant organizations.
According to information, this is the first friendship province-state relationship between Sichuan province and Austria.
Wang Yihong met with Haberlander and her entourage before signing the memorandum. The two sides agreed that they would take the signing of the memorandum of friendship and cooperation as an opportunity to further expand the depth and breadth of exchanges and cooperation between the two sides and realize win-win development.
