Genghis Khan's Mausoleum, Ordos

Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum Tourist Attraction lies on the prairie of Ejin Horoo Banner in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. The mausoleum was established to pay tribute to Genghis Khan (c. 1162-1227) who was the founder and first Great Khan of the Mongol Empire who came to power by uniting many of the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia.
Covering 10 square kilometers, the tourist attraction consists of five functional parts with 34 highlights, including the Mongolian historical museum, Genghis Khan Square, a themed amusement park and hotel. These highlights not only help tell the life stories of Genghis Khan, but also exhibit the folk culture and beautiful scenery of Inner Mongolia to visitors.
The mausoleum covers 55,000 square meters with the main structures of three palaces in the shape of Mongolian yurts. The palaces are magnificent and connected by corridors.
From spring to winter, there are four giant ceremonies in worship of Genghis Khan. A giant tourism and culture festival celebrating the culture of Genghis Khan is also held annually on July 18.
