A businesswoman from Jilin province has proved to be an inspiration, cracking international markets with her corn products, according to local officials.
They said that Sui Shuxia, a 52-year-old entrepreneur born in Gongzhuling city in northeastern Jilin province, has sold her corn products to more than 10 countries and regions in recent years.
Sui started her corn business in 2012. With the cooperation of a Shanghai food company, Sui’s company has sold nearly 900,000 corn products to international markets including Iran and Iraq. Through support from the local government, Sui’s corn products began to be popular in overseas market, officials said.
Currently, Sui’s corn company boasts a total of 16 planting bases in Northeast China, which cover more than 1,300 hectares.
Corn production from the bases has now reached 25,000 ton annually, providing job opportunities to more than 1,000 locals.
In the future, the company plans to improve the deep processing of corn, according to Sui.
