Luocheng Mulao autonomous county in the city of Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region recently launched a variety of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
A chorus competition for patriotic songs, concerts celebrating ethnic cultures, as well as calligraphy, painting, and photography competitions were held one after another in the county.
"Great changes have taken place in Luocheng Mulao autonomous county over the 70 years. Notable progress has been made in the county's efforts in poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, and improving people's livelihoods," said Lan Qizhang, Party secretary of Luocheng.
Luocheng's GDP in the first three quarters of this year is expected to see a year-on-year increase of 10 percent. From January to August, the county's fiscal revenue rose 32.7 percent from the previous year, with fixed asset investment growing by 25.7 percent.
The added value of industries above designated size in the first eight months of this year grew by 3.6 percent year-on-year, while the total retail sales of consumer goods saw a year-on-year increase of 11 percent.
The per capita disposable income of urban residents from January to August increased by 8.1 percent from the previous year, while that of rural residents increased by 10.7 percent year-on-year.
