The 2019 Asia-Pacific Forum on Green Low-Carbon Development will be co-hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Hunan Department of Ecology and Environment.
Three sessions of the forum have been successfully co-organized by both sides. The forum has been attended by representatives from more than 40 countries’ ministries and regions, and over 10 relevant UN agencies and international organizations. It has gradually become a flagship activity in the field of low-carbon technology in China and even in the Asia-Pacific region.
The theme of the forum is “Low Carbon Solutions for Our Green Future”. It will discuss such topics as “Coordinated Control”, “Carbon Trade and Climate Finance”, “Green Low-carbon Solutions”, “Industrial Low-carbon Transformation”, “New Technology Cooperation”, and “Low-carbon Business Opportunities”. Ninety-seven international experts in various fields will bring their professional expertise and offer suggestions for green development.
Meanwhile, such activities as an enterprise technology exhibition and a business matchmaking meeting will be held during the forum, so as to promote business exchanges among participating enterprises and facilitate Hunan’s enterprises and parks to explore cooperation with merchants and trade representatives from various countries.
Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and China’s special representative on climate change affairs Xie Zhenhua will attend the forum as international guests. Representatives from international financial institutions, relevant research institutions from developed countries and developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and green and low-carbon technology enterprises will also participate. The total number of foreign guests is expected to approach 200.
