A program was launched Thursday to aid impoverished patients suffering from severe facial pain caused by trigeminal neuralgia in their treatment.
The China Health Promotion Foundation and Beijing Pengsheng Hospital, a hospital specializing in treating trigeminal neuralgia, announced they have agreed to jointly launch a one-million-yuan (about 140,300 U.S. dollars) fund at the launching ceremony.
Trigeminal neuralgia, with the severe pain it inflicts, can seriously affect a patient's daily life. It also places an economic burden on patients and their families.
