Celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China to-be-held in Tianjin

During National Day week Tianjin will host 100 cultural and tourism events, 100 art exhibitions, and special food and entertainment events at its six night economic demonstration blocks.

Beijing Operas and Cross-talks Everyday

From September 30 to November 6, the Tianjin Jingju Theatre will host a classic play each day. Local fans will enjoy performances by reputed Beijing Opera stars, including Xue Yaping, a leading Zhang-style actress, a National Class-A actress, recipient of a State Council special allowance, and director of the China Zhang Junqiu Art Foundation; Zhu Qiang from the Mei Lanfang Troupe of Beijing Jingju Theatre; Yang Shaopeng from Troupe II of Beijing Jingju Theatre, a Yang-style gentleman role player and National Class-A Actor; as well as Ling Ke and other well-known performers.

A Concert by Famous Singers, an event highly anticipated by the city, will be hosted on the evening of October 5 at the Opera Hall of the Tianjin Grand Theatre.

Moreover, the city’s three largest crosstalk tea houses will host 120 shows over the holiday week.

Great Food and Performance at Scenic Spots and Night Markets

Also during the week, the main scenic spots and night markets in the city will host food events and performances. Among them, Tianjin Fangte Amusement Park will hold a large-scale unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) show. Beining Park will host a 100-man Taiji show, a 30-man diabolo-playing show, and a 100-man aerobics dance.

Food events will be held in six night economic demonstrative blocks. Among them, the Fifth Avenue Sunken Plaza will sell over 2000 commodities from Yunnan province, and put on Yunnan local performances. Jinjie Pedestrian Street will show 568 kinds of intangible heritage foods and time-honored Chinese brand products from over 20 provinces and cities, as well as Michelin-starred food, foreign beer and popular drinks. The Yixiu Carnival Night Market at iShine City Plaza in Dongli District will host a party and oil-paper umbrella and Hanfu show in the evening of October 1 (Hanfu is the traditional clothing of the Chinese Han majority). Last but not least, People Park in Wanke Plaza of Hexi District will host a carnival celebration that integrates the classics and fashionable trends.
