Milia Jabbour, Ambassador of Lebanon to China, shared her views with the China Daily website on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the investment opportunities fostered by China’s opening-up.

Jabbour expressed her gratitude for China's funding of a new music institute in Lebanon, expected to be the largest in the Middle East when completed. She considers this project a gift China gave to Lebanon under the BRI, and that it is contributing to cultural exchanges in the Middle East.

China opens up to Lebanon at all levels, allowing the two countries to share their best in areas such as media, culture and education, the ambassador said.

As to the newly-adopted Foreign Investment Law, Jabbour thought it opens more investment opportunities and the best choice for Lebanon is to understand it. “I think the whole world is competing for this market,” she said.
