The World Conference on Science Literacy 2019 will be held from Oct. 16 to 17 in Beijing, according to its organizer, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
Under the theme of "Science Literacy for Sustainable Development," the conference this year aims to contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promote the sound interactions between science and society and advocate the experience and resource sharing between nations in science education, communication and popularization.
Some 400 guests will take part in the conference, including representatives of international and national science organizations, world-renowned scientists, educators and entrepreneurs.
The two-day event will have various activities, including keynote speeches, summits, roundtables and field visits, the CAST said.
