From Aug 30 to Sept 6, Hohhot, Baotou, and Ordos, cities in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will hold the seventh session of the "Prairie Talents" cooperation conferences to attract talents for local businesses, according to local officials at a press conference.
The main venue for the week-long event will be in Baotou, and there will be two sub-venues in Hohhot and Ordos.
According to local authorities, 24 activities including a "Hongyan Plan" talent introduction activity, recruitment, talent, and development-themed forum, several project matchmaking and exchange conferences, an innovation and entrepreneurship contest, and several exhibitions will be held during the event.
Over the past few years, the region has used the "Prairie Talents" project to bring in or nurture 1,456 talents, cultivate 675 regional-level industrial innovation and entrepreneurship teams in 15 fields including agriculture, animal husbandry, energy, and new chemicals, and built 82 high-level talent innovation centers.
Since the event first launched in 2013, a total of 1,139 high-level talents and cooperative institutions have been introduced and 363 projects worth more than 222 billion yuan ($31 billion) have been signed.
