The fifth annual Summer of Hunhe River culture and art festival concluded at Shenshuiwan Park in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Sept 19.
Starting on May 31, this year’s festival ran for nearly four months, staging more than 500 activities.
These included singing, dancing, concerts, cultural exhibitions, sports competitions and more, with a special focus on celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Initiated in 2015, the festival has been held five times to date. This year, more than 500,000 people took part in the event, raising the city’s cultural profile.
It was hosted by the Shenyang publicity department and organized by Heping, Shenhe, Tiexi, Hunnan, and Yuhong districts.
