A variety of performances is scheduled to be held during the Shenyang Art Festival, which will take place in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, from Sept 20 to Oct 30, according to a press conference held by the information office of the municipal government on Sept 11.
Officials said the event is being hosted by the Shenyang publicity department and the Shenyang culture, tourism, radio and television bureau.
This year’s festival will be divided into four parts revolving around the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, traditional Chinese culture, art performances, and the integration of culture and tourism.
More than 100 performances will be held, including operas, dramas, acrobatics, singing, dancing, symphony orchestra concerts, and magic shows.
Performers from a variety of countries, including the United States and Russia, have also been booked for the festival.
Last year, more than 350,000 people took part in the event, and this year that number is expected to grow, according to organizers.
During the festival, the Shenyang culture, tourism, radio and television bureau will also launch eight new tourism routes involving the city’s artistic, cultural, and tourist sites such as the Shenyang Palace Museum, Marshal Zhang’s Mansion, and the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts.
