5G available in Guiyang's subway

Several Guiyang residents had the opportunity to experience 5G network at the city's Metro Line 1 on Sept 10, marking that the application of 5G in people's daily lives is close to becoming a reality.

Organized by China Unicom, the experiential activity took place at the Xiamaixi Station in Guanshanhu district and required that participants upload some pictures and ask for votes in their own moments on WeChat. The activity went smoothly within the 5G network, even despite being held in the underground.

At present, China Unicom has cooperated with several IT giants in 5G development, such as Huawei. The Chinese operator plans to explore a wide range of 5G applications, including medical service, industrial manufacturing, cloud, and virtual reality (VR).
