Puhe River international marathon set for October

The 2019 Yatai Cup Shenyang North New Area Puhe River International Marathon is to be held in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Oct 13, according to a news conference held on Sept 16.

The event will be hosted by the Party committee of Shenbei new district and the people’s government of the district.

The organizers said it will include a half marathon (21.0975 kilometers), a 12-km run and a 6-km run.

It is the third time the event has been staged, they said.

Around 4,000 runners are set to participate in the run, with 2,000 taking part in the half marathon, 1,000 in the 12-km run and 1,000 in the 6-km run.

The organizers said that starting from the Heping Park, the route will allow runners to experience the beautiful scenery along the Puhe River.

They added that the marathon has become an event promoting the district’s national and international profile – while also encouraging a low-carbon lifestyle and national fitness.
