WHDZ to build 25 community football fields

A total of 25 community football fields will be built in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), officials said on Sept 2.

There will be four fields for 11-a-side games, four for 7-a-side games, 11 for 5-a-side games, and six for 3-a-side games.

Three 5-a-side football fields in Wanjiahu community have already been completed.

According to Zhang Junbo, head of the construction team, the football fields sit on the former site of a parking lot owned by a logistics company.

The football fields are part of a large community park that will be built here. It is expected to serve around 20,000 residents living in the area.

Zhang also revealed that all football fields would be completed in mid-September, but the official opening date has not yet been decided.
