China will further mobilize and strengthen targeted inspections to ensure effective implementation of policies, said Xiao Jie, state councilor and secretary-general of the State Council, at a meeting on Sept 2 about the sixth nationwide inspection.
Xiao called for efforts by local governments to further implement major policies from the central government, adding that the focus should be on tax cuts and fee reductions, stabilization and expansion of employment, improvement in business environment, advances in innovation-driven development, and increases in effective investment.
In order to embrace the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China with satisfying achievements of this year’s economic and social development, Xiao stressed the importance of both alleviating burdens on local governments and strengthening inspections on their implementation of policies, adding that formalities and bureaucracy should be strictly avoided.
