Santaishi Road, which runs between Gangchang and West Renmin roads and into Jianmin Road in Qianshan, will be extended to Dexi Road in Zhongshan City as four new roads are built in west central Xiangzhou District.
An additional road in Shangchong Village will also be upgraded as the entire project lessens rush-hour traffic on National Highway G105 (Gudu Avenue).
The 627-m (686-yd) Santaishi Road extension line is to be an urban arterial road with a designed speed of 60 kmph (37 mph). It will start at the Central Meijie Road intersection and cross G105 in the west into Zhongshan.
The Zhuhai Highway Bureau issued a public notice on its official website Aug 27 to solicit public opinions on the project.
