Chongqing Renji Hospital of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

Chongqing Renji Hospital of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also known as the Fifth People's Hospital of Chongqing and formerly known as the private Renji Hospital, was established in 1896. It gained its current name in 1953. The hospital has developed into a 3A-grade comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention and healthcare.

The hospital, covering 36,335 square meters, has 800 patient beds. The hospital has 1,192 staff members, including 154 experts with senior tittles, two master's tutors and 15 with doctoral degrees.

The hospital has set up 29 clinical departments and 10 medical laboratories. The departments of pediatrics, emergency, medical imaging, neurology and pathology are municipal key clinical specialties.

The hospital also owns a range of advanced equipment such as Philips 64-row 128-slice spiral CT imported from Holland, Siemens DR machine, fiber gastroscope, DXA and sigmoid endoscopy.

It is able to carry out blood purification technology, minimally invasive technology, stone analysis and prevention technology, and other characteristic medical treatments.
