A train full of goods bound for Harbin in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province embarked on its maiden trip from Melki Railway Station in the Far East region of Russia at 10:58 am Aug 12.
The train, operated by HAO International Logistics Co Ltd, is the first block train running between Harbin and the Far East region of Russia. It is also the first China-Europe block train in Heilongjiang province.
It starts from the Melki Railway Station, passes through the station at Khabarovsk and other stations in Russia, enters Heilongjiang via the Suifenhe border port station, and then goes through customs clearance at Suifenhe port before finally heading to Xinxiangfang Railway Station in Harbin. It takes about seven days to finish the 1,379-kilometer journey.
The Melki-Suifenhe-Harbin block train will operate two to four times a month according to cargo volume.
