2019 South China Book Festival kicks off in Zhanjiang

The Zhanjiang branch of the 2019 South China Book Festival and Zhanjiang Book Fair opens at Zhanjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center on Aug 16 and will last until Aug 20.

Covering an area of nearly 10,000 square meters, this year's book fair has a total of 12 themed exhibition areas divided into five sections. Exhibitions will showcase the latest achievements in the development of the publishing industry in recent years, and a series of cultural activities will also be carried out.

The book fair is hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Publicity Department and Zhanjiang provincial publicity department. It is undertaken by Zhanjiang Daily and Xinhua Bookstore. Many bookstores in Zhanjiang will also take part in the event.

The book fair not only displays a variety of book publications, but also invites cultural experts to gather in Zhanjiang for cultural activities. From Aug 16 to 20, the book fair will carry out a variety of cultural activities, such as lectures, readings, and dances. In addition, more than 50 public events are ready for residents to participate in them, such as new book releases, signing transactions, and donations.
