Shenyang expo to showcase smart agriculture

The 11th Liaoning International Agriculture Expo and the 19th Shenyang International Agriculture Expo will be held at the Shenyang International Exhibition Center in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, from Sept 20 to 23.

A smart agriculture exhibition area will be set up during the expo to showcase specific types of agriculture and applications of internet of things and 5G technology in modern agriculture, according to a press conference held on Aug 8.

The event will be hosted by the Liaoning Provincial People’s Government and organized by the Shenyang municipal people’s government and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Liaoning Province. It will be themed around environmentalism, health, innovation, and development.

First held in 2000, the annual event has become a nationally famous agricultural exposition. This year’s expo will feature five exhibition halls covering 60,000 square meters and housing 2,500 stands.

The expo will showcase agricultural products and achievements from Shenyang and nearby cities, focusing on things like rural e-commerce, the development of modern agriculture, and rural revitalization.

In addition, some famous agricultural companies from Beijing will be invited to the expo to display their advanced products and technology, which is expected to boost cooperation between Shenyang and Beijing in the agricultural sector.
