Swim and get in better shape at Zhuhai Sports Center

The outdoor swimming pool at Zhuhai Sports Center in New Xiangzhou officially opened to the public on Aug 8 and the nearby Zhuhai National Fitness Service Center came into service on Aug 9.

The new pool is 50 m (164 ft) long and 25 m (82 ft) wide with gradually increasing depth from 1 m (3.3 ft) to 1.4 m (4.6 ft). It also has a 1,000 sq m (quarter-acre) special pool for children that is .4 m (1.3 ft) to .6 m (2 ft) deep, with colorful water game facilities.

More than 10 million yuan ($1.42 million) was spent to build the swimming pool and support facilities, which can host 900 visitors at a time, according to an executive at the center.

The pool is open between 4:30 and 6:30 pm and 7-9:30 pm. During trial operation from August to September, the pool will not close from 6:30 to 7 pm.

The price for an ordinary ticket is 35 yuan ($5) and 25 yuan ($3.50) for a concessionary ticket.

Swimming zone for children

For those who want to go swimming should search for the WeChat public account "珠海市体育中心"（gh_c4c11407f4ff) and register as a member. Then can make a reservation and complete payment online. Upon arrival, use your smart phone to scan a QR code to pass the gate, select a locker, and get a wristband.

The Fitness Service Center in the east provides measurements of physical constitution and fitness guidance. A 4,000-sq-m (1-acre) caged football pitch in the neighborhood is in the final stage of construction and will become operational soon, according to the Zhuhai Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism & Sports Bureau.
