In the first month of this year's summer vacation, from July 1 to July 31, a total of 294,400 passengers departed from Zhanjiang West Railway Station, a year-on-year increase of 33 percent.

EMU trains were used by 251,200 passengers, an average daily delivery volume of 8,101 passengers, more than 45,000 passengers compared to the previous year, an increase of 21 percent. The general-speed trains were used by 45,000 passengers, an average daily use of 1,382 passengers.

Since the Jiangmen-Zhanjiang section of the Shenzhen-Zhanjiang Railway started operation on July 1, 2018, a total of 5.56 million passengers have departed from Zhanjiang West Railway Station in one year, with a daily average passenger flow of 15,233. The number of the trains departing has also increased from 40 every day in the beginning of the trial operation to its current 70-80 trains per day.

The opening of the Jiangmen-Zhanjiang Railway not only ended the history of the lack of high-speed rail transit in Zhanjiang and western Guangdong, but has also shortened the time and space between western Guangdong, increasingly integrating into the daily lives of local residents.
