A study group of 15 college students from Lingnan Normal University visited Portsmouth in the United Kingdom for 15 days of academic research, vocational education, skills training, and cultural exchanges at Portsmouth University.
Zhanjiang and Portsmouth are both seaport cities and have great similarities in geography. The two cities have many features worthy of mutual reference and exchange in serving military ports, industrial development, education, and tourism. Since Zhanjiang established friendly exchange relationship with Portsmouth on May 12, 2017, the two sides have carried out many inspections and exchanges, becoming increasingly close in educational exchanges and cooperation. In addition, Lingnan Normal University has signed a cooperation framework agreement with Portsmouth University to establish the British Education Service Center and cooperated in various other aspects.
David Fuller, mayor of Portsmouth, and his wife met with the college study group of Lingnan Normal University at Portsmouth City Hall. They gave a comprehensive introduction on the layout and history of the interior of the city hall to the students. Fuller also expressed his hope that Portsmouth and Zhanjiang will have better cooperation and development in the future. He also hopes to visit Zhanjiang as soon as possible to further promote cooperation in the field of education.
