Anhui's advantages for investment

Location

East China's Anhui province, situated at the crossroads linking China's eastern, central and western regions, is the sub-center of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration. Anhui is next to Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in the east, Hubei and Henan provinces in the west, Jiangxi province in the south, and Shandong province in the north.

Anhui is on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River–the "golden waterway of China". Thanks to its many ports on the river, the province is linked to the world through shipping routes to the Pacific region in the east, as well as China's central and western regions along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and Silk Road Economic Belt.

The province consists of 16 cities and 105 counties, county-level cities and districts. It is the 22nd province in China in size with a territory of 140,000 square kilometers.

Transport

Anhui province has a comprehensive transport system of waterways, highways, railways and airports. Being the sub-center of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the province will set up a modern, three-dimensional transport system by 2020.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), the province will further improve its comprehensive layout of transport junctions, with the aim of setting up an integrated transport system centering on Hefei. Anhui's total investment in transport construction will amount to 694 billion yuan ($101 billion). By 2020, its length of expressways will surpass 5,200 km, length of railway lines is expected to exceed 6,000 km, with high-speed rail reaching 2,800 km. At the same time, Anhui will focus on improving the layout of the civil airport network, and constructing Hefei Airport Economic Demonstration Zone. Moreover, construction of waterways and ports in the province will be advanced, and a more convenient and reliable cross-river transport system with comprehensive functions will be built in Anhui by 2020.
