A recent report shows that more Chinese fathers are spending on parent-child tourism, with an increase of 37 percent from last year, chinanews.com reported on Tuesday.

The report by Meituan Dianping, China's leading on-demand online service provider, said dads in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Tianjin are ranked in the top 5 with the strongest purchasing powers.

Big data from the report shows that over 80 percent of parent-child tourism  products in Tianjin are purchased by local dads, and the percentage of male buyers in Beijing is nearly 60 percent.

In terms of popular tourism destinations, South China's Guangdong province tops the list, followed by East China's Jiangsu, Southwest China's Sichuan, East China's Zhejiang and Central China's Hubei. Shanghai, with its famous Disney Resort, becomes the No 1 city for family excursions, while Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu and Wuhan rank from second to fifth, respectively.

The report also shows energetic and outgoing dads prefer to participate in fun, adventurous activities with their children, which make theme parks a great option for them. In Beijing, Happy Valley, a popular amusement theme park, Happy Magic Water Cube, a water park, World Botanical Amusement Park and Beijing Wildlife Park are also among the top travel destinations for families in the city.
