The 2019 Shanghai International Marathon on Monday opened its three-day registration window for priority and elite runners.
Registration for other types of runners will commence at 10 am on Thursday and last till Aug 12.
The event, which will take place on Nov 17, will feature three races – a full marathon, a 10-kilometer run and a 5.5-km run. The full marathon is restricted to 25,000 runners, while the 10-km and 5.5-km runs will be capped at 6,000 and 7,000 participants respectively.
Launched in 1996, the Shanghai International Marathon takes runners through many of the city’s iconic landmarks, including the Bund, Nanjing East Road, Jing’an Temple and Longhua Temple. The race starts along the Bund and ends at the Shanghai Stadium.
