Currently, Kashgar has more than 20 large markets, with the largest located in its east gate. As the largest garden market in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, it covers an area of more than 16 hectares. It contains 21 specialized markets, including more than 4,000 fixed booths and a food street.
There you can purchase daily necessities, handicrafts, livestock, local specialties, vegetables, coats, second-hand goods, and many other things from cattle and horses to needles. Pakistani crafts, Turkish scarves and Saudi dried fruit are also all available at reasonable prices.
It was also called the biggest bazaar in Asia in ancient times and is known as the International Trade Market of Central and Western Asia, which is the largest international trade market in Northwest China.
