More talents are welcome to live and work in Wuhan in Central China's Hubei province thanks to the lower threshold for registering residency in the city after the government adjusted policies on July 11.

Graduates from junior colleges, colleges and universities under age 45 can register for permanent residency with their graduation certifications in Wuhan, which covers a wider group than the previous requirement, according to policies released by the city government.

In addition, their spouses and children under 18 can also follow the applicants and pursue residency with them, no matter how long they have been married, and it is open to all applicants and their family members, no matter if they've bought houses or not.

PhD graduates and master's degree graduates are not subject to the age limitation, the policies showed.

The policy aims to pool talents from all areas of the country into Wuhan and to promote the high-quality development of the city since talents are regarded as the powerful fuel for progress, according to a recent statement from the city's public security bureau.

All applications can be uploaded online anytime via the official website of the provincial government service, https://zwfw.hubei.gov.cn/.
