Tongji Hospital

Tongji Hospital, affiliated to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, was established in 1900 in Shanghai by Erich Paulun, a German doctor, and was relocated to Wuhan in 1955. After over 110 years' of development, the hospital has become a modern 3A-grade comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research.

The hospital has three campuses and has opened 62 clinical departments and medical laboratories. A total of eight specialties are listed as national key specialties. The annual patient number in outpatient and emergency departments has ranked first in Hubei province for more than 10 years.

The hospital has established close cooperation relationships with medical fields in 12 countries such as Germany, the United States, Japan and Russia. It has also signed long-term cooperation agreements with six medical institutions from countries including the US, Germany and Russia.
