The Guangdong Provincial Quality Supervision Port Crane Inspection Station, the first provincial inspection and testing platform for cranes in ports, was officially settled in Zhanjiang on July 23.
Guangdong has a developed a marine economy with more than 1,100 sets of large-scale port crane machines in the province. Zhanjiang has nearly 20 large and small terminals, as well as a large number of port crane machines, accounting for about 16.1 percent of total number in Guangdong province.
The Guangdong Institute of Special Equipment Inspection and Research Zhanjiang Branch was responsible for the station's preparatory work. During the two-year preparation period, the station undertook four scientific research projects, as well as participated in the formulation of one national standard, one industry standard, and five group standards. It also received three provincial and ministerial research awards, as well as one municipal and departmental research award.
The station has 194 project parameters inspection and testing capabilities, covering 97.49 percent of product projects, with full project inspection capabilities for key projects and important products in the field.
At present, the inspection station has completed the purchase of equipment and is now establishing a quality assurance system. The station not only provides a port crane machinery detection technology platform for Guangdong province, but also covers the areas of South China and the Beibu Gulf.
