The 2nd China Prairie Yogurt Conference and the World Prairie Yogurt Development Summit Forum were held in Ulaanqab, a city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 18.
At the conference, Ulaanqab was named as China's "City of Prairie Yogurt" by the China Food Industry Association.
Wang Guoxiang, vice-mayor of Ulaanqab, said at the conference that due to its suitable physical and geographical conditions, the city had formulated preferential policies to cultivate and develop dairy farming and dairy processing industries.
After years of development, many high-quality dairy processing enterprises have become well-known and respected in the area, which has helped develop the local dairy industrial chain, Wang said.
Furthermore, experts attending the conference and the forum discussed the development of the international dairy industry, the revitalization of China's dairy industry, and the current development of the prairie yogurt industry.
