The 7th Nomadic Culture Tourism Festival, which showcases the rich culture of regional grasslands, is set to kick off in Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner, Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 20, according to Baotou Daily.
The festival, organized by the Baotou municipal government, will consist of an opening ceremony, traditional Mongolian arts and performances, sporting activities, and a music festival.
Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner has hosted the festival for six consecutive years. This has helped promote the integration of the region’s distinctive culture and tourism.
A newfound enthusiasm and energy is expected to ignite this year’s festival and provide a significant boost to the development of all-for-one tourism in the banner.
All-for-one tourism is a relatively new concept for regional development in China. It places tourism at the forefront of comprehensive economic and social development. In 2017, for the first time, the phrase was mentioned in the Government Work Report of China and demonstration zones for the concept are now being set up across the country.
A nadam fair, now in its 30th year, will also open during this four-month nomadic culture festival.
A nadam fair is a traditional gathering of people in Inner Mongolia, held every year when pastures are at their greenest. It features horse racing, wrestling, archery, and other competitions, as well as theatrical performances.
