South China's island province Hainan officially kicked off its "Hainan Day" event at the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition on July 21, which featured a number of promotion seminars and distinctive performances with Hainan characteristics.
"Hainan Day" marked one of the province's 26 events to boost its tourism and consumption during the summer of 2019. The three-day event includes performances of Hainan special songs and dances, Hainan opera shows, intangible cultural heritage displays, including folk brocade, double-sided embroidery of the Li ethnic group, and puppet shows, as well as cultural tourism promotions, inter-museum exchanges, and Hainan specialty products fairs.
The province's blue sea, clear sky, coconut trees, rainforests, and other elements were spotlighted on the stage screen, which along with the distinctive dances and songs presented a collective picture of beautiful Hainan for the guests attending the event.
These activities showcased Hainan's exemplary ecological environment, beautiful landscapes, and unique gardening arts to the world. It also promoted the achievements of the island province in its construction of the Free Trade Pilot Zone and the Free Trade Port with Chinese characteristics, as well for creating a happy place with a high quality of life for Hainan locals, which has also increasingly attracted tourists eager for a paradise getaway.
