China Mobile launched a 5G experience spot in MixC, a shopping center in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on July 20, according to local media.
Many locals were able to connect to 5G hotspots using their mobile phones. In addition to the familiar 5G mobile phone and 5G "smart family", China Mobile also created a "mobile museum" exhibition area, allowing people to explore China's history and culture through 5G.
Making use of augmented reality technology and the data transmission speeds of 5G, the cultural relics truly seem to come alive, according to the organizers.
China Mobile revealed its recent plan to build 270 5G spots in Xiamen, covering some major areas such as the airport, port, Gulangyu Island and Zhongshan Road.
China Mobile also signed strategic cooperation agreements related to 5G application with a number of local enterprises during the experience spot's launch ceremony.
